Your First Visit to Our Mackay Practice

You will be warmly welcomed and made to feel at home. Help is on its way!

Make Yourself at Home

Our clients often remark how warm and inviting our office is. We have designed our space to be comfortable and make you feel at home. You’ll find plenty of convenient parking either on the street or in our parking lot. You’ll be greeted by name when you enter our office and given a short tour to get you acquainted with our office.

If you’ve already completed your First Visit paperwork, great! If not, after doing so, you’ll meet Dr. Jonathan Maszak for your consultation and assessment.

Plan for 30-45 minutes for your First Visit if you bring your paperwork completed with you. You may download our forms right from this site! If you need to fill in your health history paperwork in our office, allow yourself an additional 15 minutes, so come early! Your health is important to us!

We want to take the time we need during your First Visit.

The Consultation

The purpose of our initial consultation is we can get to know each other and determine if we can help.

We Listen

During a brief conversation and review of your health history, we try to determine if you’re a good candidate for chiropractic care. We’ll ask a few questions and do a lot of listening.

A Partnership

The consultation also gives you an opportunity to tour our office, meet Dr. Jonathan and learn a bit more about chiropractic. Since ours is a partnership approach to better health, it’s important that you’re comfortable with the personalities, procedures and policies of our office. The consultation is a great way to find that out.

The Next Step

If we don’t think we can help, we’ll tell you. If we think we can help, and you agree, we can usually proceed to the next step, which is a thorough chiropractic assessment.

Our clients appreciate the fact that we explain everything in advance!

The Chiropractic Assessment

Our thorough assessment might be very different than some other health practitioners you have visited. Our goal is to determine what areas of your spine and nervous system are involved and related to your health challenges. We achieve this by a bilateral weight scale analysis, a postural assessment, some neurological tests, range of motion evaluations, and motion/static palpation.

X-rays

In the event that Dr. Jonathan determines that medical imaging is necessary to further analyse the health of your spine, X-rays will be taken in our office. Some patients express concerns about radiation. Rest assured that we take proper steps to minimize your exposure and only necessary views will be taken.

After your consultation and assessment, Dr. Jonathan will bring you back to the front desk to schedule your Report of Findings.

Dr. Jonathan Asks some important questions of interest to Mackay residents - Chiropractor Mackay Dr. Jonathan Asks...

How do you "catch" a cold?
Simply lower your resistance by avoiding the proper rest and exercise, eating lots of sugar and junk food, putting up with emotional stress and neglecting your nervous system by avoiding your chiropractor. You won't have to catch a cold because it will catch you!
Why does chiropractic work?
Chiropractic works because your nervous system, consisting of your brain, spinal cord and all the nerves of your body, controls and regulates every cell, tissue, organ and system of your body. A chiropractor locates and reduces areas of nervous system compromise (usually along the spine) so your capacity to heal is restored. Chiropractic works by helping your body work as it was designed.
